Mental Resilience
Misery is imminent, and you have to be prepared to deal with it. Maybe currently everything is going well in your life: you eat happily, you smile, and you enjoy life. But the future is unpredictable; unprecedented contingencies can arise at any time. If you aren’t ready for them, you may suffer a lot. So, in this journal, I’ll teach you something that can help you prepare yourself for future miseries.
If someone is going through clinical depression, which is a serious mental health condition where a person may lose interest in things, lose their sense of peace, and experience suicidal thoughts, they should seek professional help from a therapist or doctor. Depression can have many causes, and it isn’t something that can simply be overcome through willpower.
However, if you aren’t going through it right now, don’t think that difficult circumstances can never affect you. Life can bring unexpected situations to anyone, regardless of how strong they are.
Preparing Yourself
- First, you need to develop a serious consciousness that you have to protect your peace and your life. This should remain in your mind.
- Secondly, treat this journal as your guide and read it attentively.
- Thirdly, read the following:
Wisdom and knowledge of life are the keys to preparing yourself for difficult circumstances. Imagine you aren’t an experienced person and have little knowledge of dealing with life. Someone breaks your heart, and there is a high chance that you may destroy your peace, life, or career through overthinking. But if you have knowledge and experience, or have learned from the experiences of other people, you can act wisely because you know what to do.
Having knowledge and having experiences are two different things, and both matter equally.
Sources of Knowledge
One of the best sources of knowledge is books. Apart from academics, there are books on discipline, mental health, leadership, business, and dealing with tough situations. Read those books. They can develop a mindset that helps you make better decisions.
Books are one of the best investments a person can make.
If you aren’t used to reading books, it might take time to understand some sentences. Don’t worry; give it time. It’s okay to read only one page a day, but maintain consistency. Eventually, your comprehension and reading speed will improve.
Apart from books, gain knowledge from videos and write down important points in a diary. Get a diary where you can write down lessons for life. Name it “LIFE DIARY📓.” Later, you can revise those points.
Also, listen to wise people around you, question them, and filter the right knowledge for yourself.
Sources of Experience
You are the main source of your experiences. Experience different things in life. Sometimes you will fail; no worries, you have learned a lesson.
Experience friendship, loyalty, different hobbies, difficult situations, brave moves, and saying NO when it is necessary. Experiences will shape you and hone your skills.
Although you can learn from the experiences of other people as well, you can’t experience everything in life. You may never experience war, certain business situations, or many other circumstances. Learn about these things from others.
But the best experience is often the one you learn from yourself.
Coming back to difficult periods in life: you may not have gone through certain challenges yet, so gain knowledge and learn from others’ experiences to prepare yourself for when they come.
Teach your children and loved ones important life skills.
Know how to deal with pressure, how to handle insults and abuse, how to make decisions during difficult situations, and how to remain mentally strong.
The goal isn’t to become immune to suffering. The goal is to become better prepared to face it.
Once you develop knowledge, experience, and resilience, you can learn to navigate life in a better way.
